Many of us believe that the most common symptoms of a  Heart Attack are chest pain, sweating and breathlessness, however there is more to recognize an attack long before it sets in.heart        In this gripping article, we bring to you some very important warning signs of a Heart Attack.  Heart Attack or myocardial infarction is the number one killer of both men and women in India with approximately 30 million people suffering from the disease and approximately 2 Lac surgeries being performed every year. In the U.S. each year, a staggering 735,000 Americans suffer a heart attack.

 In a stressful world of today, no one is immune to heart attacks – even people in their 20s and 30s.   Awareness of the disease and its early symptoms, especially for people with poor lifestyles and high-stress jobs is an absolute must. People with poor awareness find trouble recognizing the symptoms and around 25% of patients turn up worried that they have a heart attack.

You don’t need extreme chest pain to signal a heart attack is looming. In fact, many guys don’t experience classic symptoms, like the gripping or pressing pain in the chest that radiates down the arm, shortness of breath, or sweating, says Steven Nissen, M.D., chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.Heart attacks occur when a blocked artery stops the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your heart. But the symptoms it produces can vary, depending on things like your age, fitness level, where the blockage occurs, and severity of your heart attack.

The classic symptoms of heart attack include:

  1. Feeling of extreme pressure on the chest and chest pain, including a squeezing or full sensation.
  2. Extreme Pain in one or both arms, jaw, back, toothache stomach, or neck ache.
  3. Shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, and a feeling of breaking out in a cold sweat.

Women are somewhat more likely than men to experience heart attack that does not occur in this typical fashion. Instead, some women with heart attacks may experience more of the other symptoms, like :

  1. Lightheadedness
  2. Nausea
  3. Extreme Fatigue
  4. Fainting
  5. Dizziness
  6. Pressure in upper back

For the busy executives and people who normally live an unhealthy lifestyle, it is highly suggested that if you’re in doubt, get checked out immediately. Even if you’re not sure if something is really wrong, you should immediately seek medical advice, if you experience heart attack symptoms. Prompt administration of drugs can help restore circulation to the heart and increase your chances of survival.
